CHALLENGE

ACA Engineering is a family-run manufacturer of precision metal parts in Brisbane. A generational change in leadership and a shrinking field of competitors created the perfect moment to reposition the company. The brief, brought by FY Consulting, was clear: replace an uninspired, cog-based logo and generic visuals with an identity that mirrors ACA’s craftsmanship, rugged work ethic, and ambition to lead its market.

CONCEPT

ACA Engineering is a family-run manufacturer of precision metal parts in Brisbane. A generational change in leadership and a shrinking field of competitors created the perfect moment to reposition the company. The brief, brought by FY Consulting, was clear: replace an uninspired, cog-based logo and generic visuals with an identity that mirrors ACA’s craftsmanship, rugged work ethic, and ambition to lead its market.

CONCEPT

We built the identity around a modular grid inspired by engineering schematics. A clean stencil logomark, tight sans-serif wordmark, and a bright signal-orange accent convey technical accuracy and confident problem-solving. Sub-brands and service lines plug into the same grid, allowing ACA to scale seamlessly as more disciplines are added.

The heart of the transformation was the logo redesign. We abandoned the over-used cog imagery that dominates the category and drew a mark that balances modernity with ACA’s engineering heritage. From this core symbol we built an identity system rooted in precision and versatility. A palette of deep, earthy neutrals is paired with a vibrant signal orange to convey creativity and quality.

Dynamic shapes extracted from the logo appear as lines, patterns, and negative-space blocks, bringing cohesion and depth to every touchpoint—from stationery and uniforms to fleet branding and site signage.

OUTCOME

ACA Engineering’s identity is now modern, rugged, and unmistakable. The refreshed brand positions the company as a quality-driven leader, helps new leadership tell a clearer story, and gives sales teams a cohesive toolkit that stands out in a traditionally bland sector.
